Limerick Gardaí investigating two separate vehicle thefts from Castletroy

GARDAÍ in Limerick are appealing for any information after two cars were stolen in separate incidents last week.

The first theft happened on Thursday (March 21), at a supermarket car park on the Dublin Road in Castletroy.

Thieves stole a black Ford Galaxy with a 142 registration between 7pm and 8pm that evening.

The car was later found burnt out on the same night at around 9.30pm at Ballyclough Avenue, Annacotty.

Gardaí in Henry Street Garda Station are investigating the theft, and anyone with any information as to who was driving the car, or saw anything suspicious in the area at the time is asked to contact them on 061 212400.

The following night, another car was stolen from the same area.

A silver Toyota Vitz with a 162 registration was stolen from a retail park on the Dublin Road on Friday afternoon (March 22) at approximately 4.22pm.

In this incident, two thieves, forced open the rear window of the car, then jumped into the car, started it and drove off at speed.

The car was seen driving at speed throughout the city on Friday evening, into the night, and into the early hours of Saturday morning.

The car was eventually recovered by Gardaí from Roxboro Road Garda Station at 9am on Saturday morning from Galtee View, O’Malley Park in Southill.

Investigating gardaí are anxious to speak to anyone who may have seen this car at any stage on Friday night or Saturday morning.
