LIMERICK earned promotion to Division Three of the National Ladies Football League courtesy of a dramatic 2-10 to 1-11 win over Leitrim at Pádraig Pearses (Roscommon).
In the last act of a lively contest, Seán Kiely/Mike Quilligan’s side grabbed the match-winning goal courtesy of Iris Kennelly, Old Mill. She scored a brilliant 1-4 in total, while Deborah Murphy (Monagea) hit an important 1-3.
Limerick had led 0-8 to 0-5 at the interval.
Also, the win secures Limerick a Division Four final appearance against Carlow at St. Brendan’s Park, Birr (Offaly) on Sunday week.
