Local poet launches first poetry book in People’s Museum

LIMERICK’S Peoples Museum was the scene of a poetry launch this past weekend, with local poet and writer Bernadette Gallagher launching her first ever book of poetry.

The Risen Tree, Ms Gallagher’s debut poetry book, published by Limerick’s Revival Press, was officially launched on Sunday (March 24), and features poems from Ms Gallagher’s travels from Donegal, to Baghdad, via Cork and back to Limerick.

The Risen Tree was officially launched by Orla Fay, editor of Boyne Berries, and the first person to publish Ms Gallagher’s poetry.
