SOCIAL Democrats councillor Elisa O’Donovan has asked Limerick City and County Council for an update from Uisce Éireann on safety of drinking water in Limerick City.
Cllr O’Donovan explained she was raising the question as the latest data from the Environmental Protection Agency highlights 114,764 users in Limerick City have been exposed to potential toxins.
In response, senior executive officer Laura Flannery said that the Corporate Services Section will contact Uisce Éireann to request a briefing for the elected members of the Metropolitan District on drinking water quality in the Limerick City area.
