FINE Gael local elections hopeful for Cappamore-Kilmallock Municipal District, Noreen Stokes, launched her campaign in Pallasgreen alongside family, supporters, and political heavyweights.
MEP for Ireland South Sean Kelly, Minister of State Kieran O’Donnell, Senator Maria Byrne, and Senator Martin Conway were all in attendance.
Ms Stokes spoke on the night about being 33 votes short of taking the last seat in 2019, and reminded her supporters that she needs all the number ones in the community she can get as there is no eighth seat.
A teacher with Limerick and Clare Education Training Board (LCETB), Ms Stokes encouraged people to register family members and get all the people they know to come out and vote on June 7.
“I have worked tirelessly for the organisations in our communities as an active volunteer. No matter what town or village the phone call came from for help or assistance, I answered it and successfully worked on the queries,” she said.
The Fine Gael woman describes herself as hardworking, reliable, passionate, driven, and committed to people.
“My word is my bond,” she says.
“I am young and vibrant and I want to bring fresh ideas and more support to rural communities. I continue to make people aware of various funding schemes for rural regeneration through my social media but most of all I communicate and listen to the people.
“Therefore, I seek your support to continue to work for better rural communities and to be elected to represent the area.
“As our population is ageing faster than anywhere else in Europe, we need to be prepared to support our older people. Our rural communities deserve the best possible services at local level and we need councillors that will ensure that your taxes are spent in an effective and efficient manner.”
