MARY Immaculate College has this week launched its new masters in Irish.
The new course, MA sa Ghaeilge (Ceannaireacht i dTeanga, Cultúr agus Pobal), is fully online and will teach students about the literature and culture of Ireland, all while working on their leadership skills.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn core areas of Irish language, literature, cultural studies, Irish language arts, sociolinguistics, and language planning.
Programme coordinator Dr Róisín Ní Ghairbhí said: “The Irish language employment sector is a burgeoning one and an area of strategic importance nationally.”
The MA sa Ghaeilge opens for student intake in September 2024.
