THE call went out at last month’s Newcastle West area meeting of Limerick City and County Council for a litter bin to be placed at the post box above Edmond O’Donoghue’s shop in Abbeyfeale.
In response to the request from local Fine Gael councillor Liam Galvin, John Sheehan, senior executive engineer with the council, pointed out that there are currently two bins within the vicinity of the post box and shop.
“There is no need for an extra bin at this location,” he told the chamber.
