LIMERICK Chamber has announced its new president for the year ahead.

Northern Trust Senior Vice President Noel Gavin has been named as the incoming Chamber president, taking over from Miriam O’Connor.

Mr Gavin, who previously served as vice president on the Chamber’s board of directors, says he is “honoured” to be named president.

“I am truly honoured to step into the role of president with Limerick Chamber. This opportunity to lead and work closely with the talented team at the Chamber is one I embrace wholeheartedly,” Mr Gavin said.

“We have some key projects in the pipeline that are very close to my heart. These initiatives will not only benefit our members but also the wider business community. I firmly believe in the Chamber’s purpose and the impactful role we play in the region’s economic and social development.”

Outgoing president Miriam O’Connor oversaw the follow-up event to the Energy on the Estuary series, which was hosted in Foynes last year, the release of the city centre report, and the successful launch of the inaugural Limerick Chamber Golf Classic during her tenure, and says that she has been proud to serve the Chamber and looks forward to Mr Gavin’s term as president.

“As I pass the presidential chains to Noel Gavin, I reflect on a tenure filled with growth, challenge, and immense reward. Leading Limerick Chamber has been an extraordinary journey, one that allowed me to contribute to initiatives that have shaped our business landscape,” Ms O’Connor said.

“I am profoundly grateful for the opportunity to serve, the accomplishments we have achieved, and the indelible support from our members and the broader community.

“As Noel steps into this role, I am confident in the Chamber’s continued prosperity and impact under his guidance.”
