Open week a success at Kerry College

KERRY College Open Week 2024 welcomed over 2,000 students, career changers, and jobseekers across its five campus locations in Listowel, Clash Road, Killorglin and Monavalley.

An additional 2,500 prospective learners attended the many events hosted across the week, including the Kerry College of Beauty open evening and apprenticeship open evening.

Killorglin Campus kicked off the festivities, welcoming visitors to explore the vibrant world of outdoor education.

With discussions on careers in the great outdoors and showcases on adventure therapy, attendees were discovered the range of courses against the stunning backdrop of nature. Exhibitions ranged from scuba diving to yoga mastery, while the introduction of the brand-new Nature Based Early Learning and Care course underscored the importance of outdoor education in early years.

Clash Road Campus saw visitors go on guided tours of the state-of-the-art facilities, interacting with teachers and learners.

Principal Stephen Goulding highlighted the success of the information event featuring guest speaker Rory O’Connor.

The Kerry College of Beauty open evening offered a glimpse into the Beauty Therapy building.

The Listowel Campus welcomed eager visitors to explore its opportunities. Career guidance counsellors and learning support staff gave advice and information, with guest speakers including Katie Hannon, Tracey Grimes, and Lizzy Lyons.

Monavalley Campus provided attendees with demonstrations and hands-on experiences. Highlights of the week included the Amazon Web Services Fibre Splicing Workshop and the annual apprenticeship open evening. Campus Manager Con O’Sullivan celebrated the record-breaking attendance, noting the demand for career progression opportunities.

Finally, the Killarney admissions office rolled out the red carpet for its first-ever open day, offering prospective learners an opportunity to connect and explore the suite of full-time and part-time courses available, along with essential support services.
