CRESCENT College were beaten 18-8 by CBC in the opening semi-final of the Munster Schools Boys Senior Cup in Cork.
CBC led 10-3 at the interval, with Evan Cusack landing a penalty for the runners-up.
Well into the second-half and 15-3 down, Crescent needed a try and they did when they took advantage of a player from the opposition being in the sin bin. They spread the ball wide to Ryan Scanlon who crossed in the corned but the extras never arrived.
The Limerick school pushed for a try which could have levelled the game but O’Shea added three points from the tee to take the game out of reach of the 2022 champions.
