Public consultation for Athea flood relief scheme to take place this week

A public consultation on the Athea Flood Relief Scheme will take place this week.

A PUBLIC consultation day on the development of a flood relief scheme for a West Limerick village will take place this week.

Limerick City and County Council and engineering consultants Ryan Hanley are inviting members of the public to have their say on plans for flood defences in Athea.

The consultation will update members of the public on the current options for the Athea Flood Relief Scheme.

The scheme has considered an extensive list of potential flood management measures, and the purpose of the Public Participation Day is to provide interested parties with an overview of the emerging options and an opportunity to engage with the project team and share feedback, comments and observations.

The public consultation day will take place at Con Colbert Community Hall, Athea, on Wednesday (February 21) from 5pm to 8pm.
