A SEARCH was due to resume this morning (Wednesday) along the lower River Shannon at Ardnacrusha, County Clare, for a man reported missing yesterday.
Sightings of a male present at a bridge near Ardnacrusha hydroelectric power station yesterday afternoon were reported to Gardaí.
Members of the Killaloe unit of the Irish Coast Guard were deployed to the area, which is located close to the border of Limerick City and south east Clare border, around 8.45pm last night.
Personnel attached to Killaloe Coast Guard, supported by Gardaí attached to Henry Street Garda Station in Limerick, conducted a search along the banks of the river last night.
Killaloe CG also conducted an aerial sweep of the area, using a drone with a camera attached.
Emergency personnel in attendance were stood down shortly before midnight.
The search was expected to continue this Wednesday morning.
