Man charged in connection with knife incident in Limerick to appear before Nenagh District Court

A MAN who has charged in connection with an incident of “acting erratically” with a knife in Limerick yesterday is due to appear today before Nenagh District Court.

This comes as a principal of a school in the area put down rumours of an intruder on the school grounds.

Gardaí have charged one person in connection with an incident in which a man was observed behaving erratically with a knife in Limerick yesterday (Friday February 9).

Gardaí were contacted after a number of postings where shared on social media in which it was alleged a man with a “sword” had attacked students coming out of a school in the area and that the school had been locked down.

The principal of a school in the area messaged parents afterwards saying: “I have been made aware that rumours are circulating that there was an intruder on the school grounds today. There is no truth to these rumours.”
