THE GAA has confirmed a price increase for adult entry into the upcoming Allianz National Hurling League (NHL), which opens for holders Limerick with a ‘home’ fixture against rank outsiders Antrim at Semple Stadium in Thurles on Sunday (2pm).
Adult admission for all NHL matches will increase to €20 (up from €18 last year), while, on the other side of the coin, students and seniors will enjoy a discounted rate of €15 (down from €16).
For ardent Limerick supporters, a hurling Season Ticket is available at €140, with a five-match bundle available at €75 and a three-match ticket for the price of €50. Tickets for the NHL Final will be €30.
However, in a notable shift, the GAA has announced a modification to the season ticket offering. Unlike previous years, the package will no longer include free entry to the first Munster Championship game, which in Limerick’s case is against Clare at the 19,000 capacity Cusack Park, Ennis, in April.
Prices have also increased for National Football League games, with Limerick’s NFL bouts rising to €12 (from €10), with students and seniors paying €10.
Juvenile and Under-16s games will continue to be free of charge for all NHL fixtures, except for reserved seating fixtures and selected venues where capacity is a concern.
As before in the NHL, tickets will not be sold at venues in 2024 and must be purchased in advance either on the GAA website or in selected SuperValu and Centra stores.
According to Boylesports, Limerick are currently sitting at 11/8 favourites to retain their National League title, followed in the betting by Cork (5/1), Kilkenny (5/1), Tipperary (6/1), Galway (7/1), Waterford (10/1), Clare (14/1), and Dublin (14/1).
Wild outsiders Offally and Westmeath may net risk takers a healthy sum at 500/1.
