A LOCAL Limerick TD welcomed the continued roll-out of legislation targeting nicotine inhaling products (such as e-cigarettes or ‘vapes’).
A ban on the sale of such products to minors was put down in December 2023.
This year will see more measures enacted to tackle vaping.
“The remaining measures in the act, such as around advertising, a licensing system, and vending machines, will commence and we will examine the results of our public consultation on the further regulation of e-cigarettes,” local TD Willie O’Dea said.
Deputy O’Dea also welcomed what he called “innovative proposals” around tobacco control, “particularly around flavourings and packaging”
