FOND celebrations were held as long-serving Parks Superintendent at Limerick City and County Council, Michael Sheehan, retired from duty after 45 generous years with the local authority.

Mr Sheehan, who is credited with the delivery of the annual ‘Bridges in Bloom’ and floral displays much lauded in Limerick, first started his career as a gardener with the council in 1979.

Well known and liked by many regular attendees of the People’s Park, Michael was celebrated at a gathering of his admiring colleagues this past Friday (January 12).

“All at Limerick City and County Council wish him well on his retirement,” a spokesman for the council said.
