Councillor calls for costings for footpath extension in Kilmallock

Limerick Sinn Féin councillor PJ Carey.

SINN Féin councillor PJ Carey has called on the Council to provide costings for a footpath and associated works that will connect Bellview estate and the houses on the Glenfield Road in Kilmallock.

Senior executive engineer Trevor McKechnie, the roads engineer for the Cappamore-Kilmallock Municipal District, said that he has been liaising with some residents on Glenfield Road regarding the request to extend the existing footpath at Bellview Estate.

“It should be noted that any extension of the footpath will require significant land acquisition,” he explained.

Cllr Carey was also informed that the roads engineer will revert to him early in 2024 with a status report.
