Shane Lowry has described as โ€œamazingโ€ the festive donation by the McManus family of โ‚ฌ1million to each GAA County Board in Ireland.

โ€œItโ€™s amazing,โ€ the golf ace told IrishGolfDesk.com. โ€œIโ€™m a huge fan of JP. Heโ€™s been great to us golfers over the years and he’s been great to the GAA and sport in general. Horse racing is big because of JP.

โ€œHe puts a lot of money into Ireland, and he keeps a lot of things afloat. And him doing that with the GAA counties was something that he doesn’t need to do. So itโ€™s very generous of him.

Lowry, a financial backer of GAA teams in his home county Offaly, concluded: โ€œJP is one of the most generous people you meet. Anyone in the golfing circles I know will tell you that as well, and I think it’s amazing what heโ€™s done.โ€
