THE first local blood donation clinic of the new year will take place next week.
A clinic will be held at the Castletroy Park Hotel next Wednesday (January 10) and Thursday (January 11) from 4.20pm to 7.40pm on both days.
A clinic will also take place at the same venue on the following Sunday (January 14) from 11.50am to 3.10pm.
The Irish Blood Transfusion Service (ITBS) say that demand for blood is six per cent higher this year than it was in January 2023.
The IBTS also say that over 3,000 donors are needed across Ireland every week to meet the demands from hospitals.
