WHEN can locals expect the spot speed indicator to be moved out to the speed limit along the Monagea Road?

This was the question on Independent councillor Jerome Scanlan’s lips at this month’s Newcastle West area meeting.

He also wanted to know when a similar sign would be put in place on the southern approach to Feohanagh village.

The Newcastle West Roads District, Cllr Scanlan was informed, will carry out speed surveys at the location suggested.

“Based on the information received, these areas can then be considered for the placement of driver feedback signage,” said Senior executive engineer John Sheehan.
