A LIMERICK company has been handed a top award at the Medtech Awards.

Croom Medical has been awarded the Medtech Partner/Supplier of the Year Award at the prestigious national ceremony of the Medtech Awards.

The award ceremony, organised by the Irish Medtech Association, Enterprise Ireland, and IDA Ireland, recognises the excellence and innovation of the Irish Medtech sector.

Croom Medical was founded in 1984 and manufactures orthopaedic implants and medical devices, achieving a significant milestone in recent times with the release of its first Titanium and Tantalum-based orthopaedic implant prototype.

This development places Croom Medical at the forefront of orthopaedics manufacturing globally, promising lightweight, high-performance implants designed to enhance patient outcomes and bolster market competitiveness.

Patrick Byrnes, CEO at Croom Medical, said: “We are honoured to receive the Irish Medtech Partner/Supplier of the Year award. This achievement is a testament to our team’s dedication to innovation, quality, and collaboration.”

Since 2019, the company has experienced rapid growth, expanding its team from 45 in 2021 to 170 people in 2023.

An investment exceeding €12 million was also made in the company’s facilities to enhance their manufacturing capabilities.

Croom Medical have plans to continue their expansion in 2024, striving to set new standards of excellence in their work.
