Brian O’Connor & Dave Keary live shows and album launch

TWO names that need no introduction in Limrock, Brian O’Connor and Dave Keary have collaborated on a new album and will launch the CD at their two gigs at Dolans (matinee and night time) on Saturday December 30. There are some tickets left for the matinee show, the later show is completely sold out.

The album is entitled ‘Downstream’ and features some illustrious musicians from the Irish music scene.

Brian O’Connor is now based in Sweden and plays and records regularly there. Dave Keary is Musical Director for Van Morrison and busy in his Red Door Studios so to get the two players in the same venue is a rare thing these days.

Brian and Dave are forever very grateful for the support and loyalty shown from their fans at their many gigs over the years, so it felt fitting to the duo to document some of the songs that they perform with this CD.

Dave explains, “This was a joint Hiberno-Scandic endeavour of remote, collaborative efforts with help and contributions  from some great people to get it over the line in time for the gigs.”

There are some great guest musicians on the recording as well as the marvellous Dawn Browne whom they were delighted to have singing on it.

Peter Donnelly created the fantastic album cover design.

Other players on the CD include James Hanley, Eoghan O’Neill, Des Lacey and Damien McGeehan.

Brian O’Connor adds, “We’re humbled and so grateful for your superb playing. Downstream features many of the songs that have been favourites at the gigs through the years and some others that we really enjoy playing.”

“Thanks to Henning Ejnefjäll at Coqpit Studio, Nyköping Sweden for all your expertise and patience and the great man himself, Dave Keary, at Red Door Productions Limerick, the brains and production and peerless musicianship behind everything.”

Some tickets are available for the matinee show (5pm) on Saturday December 30.

‘Downstream’ on CD featuring songs by John Hiatt, Gram Parsons, John Prine and originals from Brian and Dave will be available at both gigs.
