Villiers climb ranks in schools rugby

It was exciting times for Villiers School Senior Boys Rugby team.

EXCITING times await Villiers School following an historic qualification for the Munster Schools Senior Cup.

In a hugely entertaining qualifier final, Shannon’s Marcus Moloney captained the local side to 13-10 win over High School Clonmel at Musgrave Park.

The win came courtesy of a last minute penalty from ice-cool Harry O’Donovan.

Villiers draw their players from clubs such as Shannon, Bruff, Garryowen, Young Munster, and even Westport (Mayo).

The side includes Ireland under-18 hockey ace David Persse.

Former AIL performer with Shannon Ger Finucane heads-up an impressive coaching ticket which also includes Ciarán O’Hanlon (Richmond) and Garryowen’s Liam Barrett.
