Four Limerick animal charities to share almost €180,000 funding

LIMERICK animal charities are to receive almost €180,000 in Government funding.

Four local charities will get a share of an overall €177,450 to support their work.

Deel Animal Rescue will get €15,600, while Limerick Animal Welfare will receive the biggest share of €111,600.

Limerick Feral Cats will be given €21,800, and Star Rescue will be given €28,450.

There is an additional focus on funding for charities that rehome dogs.

Limerick TD Niall Collins said: “Animal welfare is important to all of us in Ireland and is a key priority for Fianna Fáil in Government.”

“Those who work for animal welfare charities are frontline workers and treat it as a vocation. I am extremely grateful of the tremendous work they do in keeping pets and animals safe,” he concluded.
