A LARGE crowd gathered in Limerick City last weekend for a protest in solidarity with Palestine, as the temporary ceasefire ended and bombing in Gaza resumed.
This week, the local group behind the protest are urging retailers to follow the example of sportswear brand O’Neills and “give Puma the boot” due to its financial links with Israel.
The appeal was launched by the Limerick branch of the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) who, as part of the campaign, are urging all local clothing stores to “remove PUMA products” as O’Neills have done.
A connected protest is being organised again this Saturday, gathering at 1pm on Bedford Row.
Limerick IPSC say this protest will be the first step in a boycott campaign.
