THE Celtic Tenors will play in Rathkeale as part of the town’s Christmas concert series in the beautiful setting of St Mary’s Church on Friday December 15 at 7.30pm.
This will be the only festive performance from the Tenors this year. Once again, the choir of Colàiste na Tròcaire and musicians past and present will also join in the fun and festive music.
The group will also play songs from their many albums over the years. Musical director on the night is Jean O’Brien, who is the music teacher in the school.
Seamus Hogan of Rathkeale Community Council said the concert is a huge event locally and synonymous with the festive season.
“Over the last couple of years we have been very lucky to attract some of the biggest names in Irish music. Last year we had a sellout concert with Brian Kennedy, and Tommy Fleming the previous year, so we are absolutely thrilled to attract such a big name this year.
“Our choir are currently rehearsing with Jean at every available moment and really excited to be performing with such calibre as the Celtic Tenors.
“Our concerts attract visitors to Rathkeale every year and so far this year we have sold tickets in the UK and also to Germany”.
Tickets are €25 euros and are available at John’s Menswear in Rathkeale, the office at Colàiste na Tròcaìre, the Rathkeale House hotel, the office at the community centre, or from Valerie White Foley and Seamus Hogan.
