LOCAL Aontú activist Eric Nelligan has raised the issue of delivery trucks causing traffic delays by blocking roads during the peak commuter times.
“Blocking a busy road for traffic flow for a handful of minutes causes the finely tuned traffic management to go off kilter resulting in significant delays,” he insisted.
He said Aontú are asking that businesses guarantee “no disruption to the flow of traffic would happen during the morning commute between 8am and 9am and the evening commute between 4.30pm and 5.30pm”.
“All we’re asking is that slightly more community thinking is put into the planning by the transport companies, businesses, and building site managers,” he said.
