A YOUNG Pallaskenry man has announced his intention to run as an Independent candidate in the 2024 Limerick Local Elections.
Tommy Hartigan (23) will seek election in the six-seat Adare Rathkeale district race.
Hartigan – who is involved with local organisations like the Askeaton Ballysteen Community Council, Ballysteen GAA and FC, and the Shannon Duck Project – said: “I feel strongly about rural area and will endeavour to make it an attractive place in which to live and work, which sometimes is not the case, highlighted by the recent emigration to Australia by six of my friends.”
He counts supporting local businesses and preserving local traditions as among his key aims if elected.
