Limerick groups honoured at Pride of Place Awards

LIMERICK community groups were honoured at the recent IBP Pride of Place Awards in Armagh.

Killeedy Community Projects took home joint first place in the ‘Village with a population between 0-500’ category, with judges impressed with efforts to regenerate the area.

Killeedy shared first place with Hollywood Village in County Wicklow.

In Limerick City, Southill HUB came runner up in the ‘Urban Neighbourhood/Village with a population under 3,000’ category.

CareBright Limerick received a nomination and came away with empty hands but high spirits.

Mayor of Limerick City and County councillor Gerald Mitchell said that “Limerick was well represented at the Pride of Place awards this year with three worthy nominations all doing the county proud”, describing the work of the groups as “inspirational”.
