Operated and owned by husband and wife duo Peter and Denise Brazil, the family-owned business, which is part of the Limerick Travel Group, has successfully woven together heritage, design, Limerick pride, wellness, and a commitment to customer service excellence.
With a dedicated team of 15, including the invaluable restaurant and housekeeping managers who have been part of the journey since day one, The Bedford Townhouse is a testament to the power of a hardworking and loyal team who keep hospitality and the customer at the core of everything they do.
Despite facing closures and reopenings during the challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic, The Bedford Townhouse remained resilient, engaging customers through social media and innovative online events like ‘Live from the Parlour’, a live-streamed music event from the Parlour Room held bi-weekly in 2021.
In 2022, the establishment underwent a significant transformation, expanding its café into a larger scale restaurant with a new kitchen, additional seating, and an enhanced menu. Always focused on freshness and supporting local, The Bedford works closely with suppliers like Rigney’s Farm, Croom Eggs, Ponaire, Cahill’s Tea, and more.
The accolades speak volumes about The Bedford’s commitment to excellence. Recognised as the Georgina Campbell’s Guide Guesthouse of the Year in 2022, winner of the Limerick Tidy Towns award in June 2022, and featured in the Irish Independent’s ‘10 Superior Townhouse Stays’ in July 2023, The Bedford continues to shine in the hospitality arena.
Welcoming over 22,000 guests in the past five years, The Bedford operates in harmony with its sister company, Limerick Travel, with over five decades of experience in the travel industry.
