THREE lump sum payments were to be made this week as part of the first tranch of cost-of-living supplements promised in Budget 2024.

409,000 recipients of the Fuel Allowance nationwide saw a โ‚ฌ300 payment, 45,000 families received the โ‚ฌ400 Working Family Payment, and โ‚ฌ400 in Disability Support Grant funding was given to those on the Disability Allowance and Invalidity and Blind pensions.

Welcoming the fulfilment of Budget promises, Limerick Minister of State Kieran Oโ€™Donnell said the payments will โ€œgo a long way in supporting peopleโ€ in the face of the cost-of-living crisis.

Further supports are due in the coming weeks, including for those in receipt of the Living Alone Allowance and Child benefit, as well as the Christmas Bonus double payment for those on jobseeker payments.
