Announcing the news of Mr Funke’s death, UL President, Professor Kerstin Mey, said in an email to staff and students at the university: “It is my very sad duty today to inform you of the death of a much-loved member of our community, Robert Funke from Germany, who was in his first year of an MA in European Studies.”
