LIMERICK Labour Councillor Conor Sheehan has welcomed the announcement that Shareridge have been appointed as contractor on the Mill Road Active Travel Scheme.
“The investment will mean that it will now be safe for children to walk and cycle to school because the Mill Road will finally have a proper footpath going the whole length of the road,” Cllr Sheehan said.
“This is long overdue following the passage of the planning application in October 2021 and I am very hopeful that construction will begin without delay.”
“The Council have also assured me that the most disruptive work will be carried out during school holidays and that a dedicated liaison will be appointed as a point of contact with residents,” he added.
