THREE-IN-A-ROW Limerick winners Monagea will run-up against Glanmire (Cork) in the Munster Intermediate Ladies Football Final in Mallow on Sunday, 12.45pm throw-in.

Monagea’s opposition are an unknown quantity where as our representatives are well served through the likes of Róisín Browne, Yvonne Lee, Ellie Woulfe, Karen O’Leary, Deborah Murphy, Catriona Davis, Karen O’Leary and Kate Geary.

Michael Quilligan, who kept a clean sheet in goal for three-in-a-row Senior Football Champions Newcastle West at the weekend, is part of the coaching ticket with Monagea.

He, along with Seán Kiely (Hospital/Herbertstown), have just been appointed joint managers of the Limerick Ladies senior team for the next couple of seasons. Quilligan will miss this weekend’s final due to NCW’s involvement in the Munster Club Championship.

It’s likely to a close encounter.

The new joint Limerick managers Seán Kiely and Michael Quilligan will be interested spectators at the fixture.

Meanwhile, sisters Yvonne and Grace Lee (Monagea), clubmates Deborah Murphy and Karen O’Leary, along with Old Mill’s Róisín Ambrose, Limerick captain, were named on the TG4 Junior Football Team of 2023 at the weekend.

Ambrose missed the awards as she is currently holidaying with her boyfriend Aaron Gillane and his All-Ireland winning county colleagues.
