PETER Nash has claimed the inaugural Golden Boot Award for the 2023 Limerick Senior Football Championship.
The richly talented dual-star with Kildimo/Pallaskenry kicked a superb 4-33 (45 points) across the competition, to emerge the winner ahead of Adare’s Hugh Bourke 2-37 (43) with Daniel Daly of Monaleen in third on 1-39.
Next came Eoin Hurley, two-goal hero for Newcastle West in Sunday’s Final win over Adare, with 3-31 (40).
“The aim of the competition is to help increase the profile of club football in the county,” explained Paul Anglim, Limerick Football Committee Secretary.
Interestingly, had the award been introduced 12-months ago Nash would also have emerged triumphant.
Meanwhile, the West GAA Board Convention will be held at The Devon Inn Hotel, Templeglantine on this Wednesday (7.30pm).
