Limerick young people encouraged to enter speech writing competition

-

YOUNG people from Limerick aged between 14 and 18 are encouraged to enter a speech writing competition.

ActionTalks, organised by ActionAid Ireland, is a competition that gets young people to explore the root causes of local and global injustices and inequalities.

This year’s theme focuses on the climate crisis, gender-based violence and unpaid care work.

In the 10 years since its inception, 75 students from 13 schools in Limerick have entered, with five reaching the final stage of the competition.

To take part, students must write a 600 to 800-word speech on three specific topics.

Students can get more information on ActionAid’s website or from their teacher.
