A wrap on weekend AIL action

YOUNG Munster returned to winning ways in the AIL at the weekend.

The Cookies, who trailed Dublin University 5-3 at half time at College Park, took control after the break to run out 22-8 winners.

Stephen McLoughlin, Ruadhan Quinn and James Horrigan were Munsters try scorers and Aidan Shortall kicked two conversions and a penalty.

Elsewhere in Division 1A, Shannon surprisingly lost 25-13 at home to newly promoted City of Armagh. Daniel Okeke was Shannonโ€™s try scorer. Mike Cooke kicked a penalty, and John Oโ€™Sullivan added a conversion and a penalty.

In 1B, Garryowen suffered another defeat in a high scoring game at Dub Lane where they lost to Queens University 41-32. The light Blues led 15-8 at half time and had tries from Dean Fanning, Donnacha Byrne, Colm Quilligan, Nicky Greene and Kyle Read. Kelvin Langan kicked two conversions and a penalty.

In 2A, UL Bohemian defeated Malone 31-17, while Old Crescent lost away to Ballymena 34-10 at Eaton Park.

And, Bruff maintained their challenge in Division 2C with a 29-15 bonus point win at home to Bangor. Mark Fitzgerald scored two of Bruffโ€™s four tries, with Adam Murphy Casey and Cillian Rea scoring the other tries. Etan Anderson kicked two conversions and a penalty, with Paul Collins also adding a conversion.

In the Womenโ€™s All Ireland League UL Bohemian still lead the way after their 29-10 home win against Blackrock College. Chisom Ugwueru scored four tries and Abbie salter Townsend one. Kate Flannery kicked two conversions.
