TWO men are due in court this afternoon in connection with a large drugs seizure in Limerick yesterday (Thursday).
The men, aged in their 40s and 20s, are due to appear before a judge in connection with a €105,000 drugs seizure in St Mary’s Park on Thursday.
A statement from An Garda Síochána said that “both individuals arrested as part of this investigation have now been charged and are expected to appear before a sitting of Limerick District Court today at 12:30pm.”
The property in St Mary’s Park was searched by Gardaí from the Limerick Divisional Drug Unit, along with members of the Regional Armed Support Unit.
€82,000 of suspected heroin was found, as well as €20,000 of suspected crack cocaine and €3,000 worth of alprazolam.
In an earlier statement, Gardaí explained that they had “seized over €100,000 of suspected heroin, crack cocaine, and alprazolam, and arrested two men, during a search operation in Limerick City on Thursday 19th October 2023, conducted as part of Operation Tara.”
“All of the drugs seized (totalling €105,000) will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis,” they concluded.
