THERE have been a number of road closures across Limerick today (Friday) as the Council continue to deal with flooding and water-related property damage resulting from Storm Babet.
A statement issued by Limerick City and County Council (LCCC) said that the local authority is continuing to “deal with widespread localised surface water flooding mainly affecting roads but also impacting a small number of properties in County Limerick”.
The Council confirmed road closures in effect at the Mount Shannon Road (Annacotty), and on the road from Ballyneety to the Liberties GAA in Knockea.
The N24 Pallasgreen Road, where LCCC crews were previously in attendance, has now been cleared of flood waters. Flooding at Old Pallas has also abated significantly, according to the Council.
On Hyde Road in Limerick City, there is surface water flooding and one property has been sandbagged to prevent water entering. Council crews are currently on the scene.
Road flood signage has been erected on the L1144, Ballyclough to Rosbrien road, where flooding has been sourced to a nearby stream.
