ALMOST 500 homes across County Limerick were left without power since the early hours of this morning (Wednesday October 18) as Storm Babet rages across the west of Ireland.

According to ESB’s PowerCheck, 463 homes in the county were left without power as a result of the ongoing storm, which has been projected to continue into the early evening today.

The highest concentration of power outages has been reported in East Limerick, in the Doon/Cappamore areas. Outages were also reported in Newcastle West and Cratloe.

ESB have apologised for the loss of supply, and say that the majority of faults will be reversed by 5pm this evening.

Warnings of Storm Babet continue throughout today, with a Status Yellow warning in place for Limerick.
