MEMBERS of the public are advised to double check they have all their belongings when leaving their car.
This comes after a woman received a notification through her banking app about transactions being made on her account that she had no recollection of.
According to local Gardaí, the woman parked her car in the city and accidentally left her bank card inside, giving an opportunist thief the chance to steal it and make unauthorised purchases from her account.
Gardaí say that before leaving them unattended, people should make sure the cars are securely locked with the windows closed.
