THE ALL-IRELAND Junior Cup dominated the recent local programme with victory by Newcastle West the stand-out result.
Newcastle West had a narrow 27-26 home win against Connacht side Creggs. Alan O’Riordan and Alex O’Halloran scored tries for Newcastle West and they were also awarded a penalty try. Shane Airey converted both tries and kicked a penalty, with O’Halloran also adding a penalty.
Elswhere, a depleted Richmond side were no match for Bective Rangers at Donnybrook suffering a 38-10 defeat. Jordan Dillon scored Richmond’s try and Josh Moloney kicked a conversion and a penalty.
