Team Hope’s Christmas shoebox appeal gets underway

Team Hope's Christmas shoebox appeal has gotten underway for 2024.

LAST year, Christmas shoeboxes donated by people from all over Limerick went to Eswatini and Romania to make children smile.

This year, Team Hope aims to send shoebox gifts to children in Romania, Transnistria (Moldova), Ukraine, Albania, Burundi, Democratic Republic Congo, Lesotho, Eswatini (Swaziland), Malawi, Kenya, Burkina Faso, and Rwanda.

And parents, children, teachers, families, and communities are invited to get involved. Shoeboxes wrapped in Christmas paper should contain something to write with, something to wear, washing items, and a surprise toy or treat.

Participants can build a box at home or make a donation to the appeal to build one online.
