A LOCAL councillor has called for the installation of new road overlay in Abbeyfeale.
Fianna Fáil councillor, and former mayor, Francis Foley has called on the Council to seek funding for the provision of a new overlay on the Killarney Road from Dalton’s Cross to the library in Abbeyfeale.
At this month’s Newcastle West area meeting, Director of Transport Brian Kennedy explained that Phase 1 of the Abbeyfeale Public Realm Scheme involves 400 metres on Killarney Road from the Cellar Bar to the doctor’s surgery past the library.
“Phase 1 will commence upon completion of TII (Transport Infrastructure Ireland) pavement improvement scheme on N21 and will take approximately eight months to complete,” Mr Kennedy said.
