HOW many foreshore licence applications for development of offshore wind farms were accepted in the years 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023?
That was the question in the Dáil recently from Limerick Green Party TD Brian Leddin to the Minister for Housing, Local Government, and Heritage.
Local Minister of State for the Department, Kieran O’Donnell, replied that they have not accepted any new lease applications for offshore wind farms in the years referred to.
“This is consistent with Government policy relating to a plan-led approach to offshore renewable energy (ORE) development,” he explained.
