HOMEOWNERS in Limerick are encouraged to apply for Limerick City and County Council’s rightsizing scheme in Newcastle West.

The scheme is open to people over the age of 55 who own their own home and wish to find a smaller house more suited to their needs.

Under the scheme, an applicant can request the Council to purchase their home in return for a lifelong tenancy in a managed older person scheme.

Limerick Minister of State Niall Collins said: “This innovative voluntary scheme gives people over the age of 55 the ability to move to a more appropriately sized home, if that is their desire.”
