Gardaí investigating after boy bitten by dog in County Limerick

GARDAÍ have begun an investigation after a boy was bitten by a dog in County Limerick yesterday (September 26).

The incident occurred in the south east County Limerick town of Garryspillane yesterday.

When asked about the encounter, a Garda spokeswoman said that “Gardaí are investigating an incident at a property in Garryspillane, County Limerick, that occurred on 26th September 2023. A male child was bitten by a dog.”

She added that “enquiries are ongoing”.

When asked about the nature of the boy’s injuries, the Garda spokeswoman replied: “No further details are being released on this matter.”

The Garda spokeswoman did not reply when asked what type of dog was involved.
