A SCRAMBLER rider was arrested in Limerick City today (Wednesday September 27) after being found in possession of suspected hard drugs.
While on patrol in Limerick City, members of the Community Policing Unit operating out of Henry Street Garda Station intercepted and arrested a scrambler driver who they observed to be driving dangerously.
According to a post shared by An Garda Síochána online, after arresting the rider, Gardaí found a “significant” quantity of suspected hard drugs they believe to be intended for supply.
“The driver was processed for drug driving and found to be carrying a significant quantity of suspected crack cocaine and heroin believed to be destined for supply,” the online statement read.
The scrambler bike was seized by Gardaí and a prosecution of the rider may be imminent pending a forensic analysis of the drug driving sample and suspected crack cocaine and heroin.
Investigations are ongoing.
