PEOPLE in Limerick are being encouraged to take the plunge for a good cause.

Swimmers are invited to take part in a cold-water swim on September 23 in aid of mental health charity Aware.

The Big Splash encourages people across the country to take a dip at their favourite swimming spots, whether that’s the sea, a lake, swimming pool or river.

An ice bath or freezing cold shower is also an option for anyone who doesn’t live near a swimming spot.
