TWO LIMERICK travel agents have been elected as board members of the Irish Travel Agents Association (ITAA).

Peter Brazil of Limerick Travel and Best4Travel’s Jeff Collins, from Meath with an office based in Limerick, were elected to serve on the board of the ITAA.

New board member Jeff Collins said, “I am delighted to be elected to the ITAA Board. There are great opportunities for the travel trade in the coming year as more destinations and products come on stream, offering the consumer more choice.”

“My advice to consumers making travel plans is to book with a member of the Irish Travel Agents Association where you are guaranteed great service, advice, value, and total security,” he continued.

The ITAA represents Ireland’s travel Industry, bringing together over 100 travel agent members and 70 affiliate partners. ITAA members cover over 140 outlets in different towns and cities throughout the Republic of Ireland.

Also elected were President Angela Walsh, CEO and founder of FROSCH Ireland, and, as Treasurer, Emma McHugh, Managing Partner at Atlantic Travel.

Speaking at the ITAA’s Annual General Meeting in Dublin last month, incoming president Angela Walsh said that travel agents across the country had successfully adapted to the changing market, adding that she hoped she could continue to grow the ITAA’s membership.

“I am honoured to be elected as the President of the ITAA. In taking up this position I believe that I can continue to grow the ITAA membership and continue developing the supports to our existing members enhancing the credibility and reputation of the Irish travel industry,” she said.

“The continued success of our industry has been down to travel agents’ collective ability to evolve and meet the changing market place, be it changes in technology, empowering our people or working within a sustainable environment. The coming year offers big opportunities for the travel trade to evolve further.”
